“Ohhh…Ahhhh…!!!” It was a quiet day at the beach. Karla had chosen Ocean Beach at the cliffs because the view was the best. The Cliffs were the other side of the beach where she could see everyone tanning, arriving, leaving, relaxing, and surfing. Here, she could really concentrate. At the moment, it was her voice that was at concern. Star Crush would be performing new material and the rehearsal was a little shaky. She needed to warm up, to be prepared not make a fool out of herself. “Ahhhh…ohh yeahh.”She tired again. To her, Karls sounded fine. But fine wasn’t good enough. She had to sound amazing.
“Come on Karla you can do this.” She willed herself to try harder. It had been a while since Karla actually hit a very high note. It wasn’t the easiest thing to do, but if she didn’t she wouldn’t look impressive or good. The critics would tear apart. Karla was very sure of that. She paced a bit trying not to get too much sand in her new Roberto Cavalli sandals. Her Droid cell phone was in her front pocket, careful not to put it in the back for the fact of what happened to the Blackberry last year.
She knew she would have to hit a note but Karls needed to relax. She took a few deep breaths and ran a hand through her thick black hair which was worn down today, nothing special really. Karla ran her bangs backward and let her hair go. It was going to be a long morning if she kept stalling. There wasn’t a person for quite a few feet from her and her security detail was right down the beach. No one could go anywhere without them. Which was also one of the reasons that part of the beach was quiet today. Karla closed her eyes and started again. "Oh, never, ever again..."

Mason placed his hands in his pockets as he walked. He didnt have to do anything today which was nice, he liked his days off. Being the merch guy wasnt exactly masons favorite job, in fact he would never have chosen it but it hadnt been his choice. Mason had argued it, but it had been a moot point, whatever he said never mattered so he just sucked it up and took the job. Honestly mason would much rather be back home and not the one that his boyfriend had put him up at but back in Tula. Even though mason hadnt really had a home back in oklahoma it was still where he had grown up. It would be a while yet before he got to go back, his boyfriend hated the place, didnt have enough hype for him.
Mason stopped where he was and lifted the camera up that hung around his neck and took a few pictures. Mason usually took pictures of the sky, clouds, sunsets, sunrises, storms, people, animals, generally anything that caught his eye. He loved the things the camera could capture or make things look. Mason really had no destination in mind today, hed just gone out for a walk. He had texted his boyfriend not sure if he was supposed to meet him somewhere or not. It wasnt easy having a relationship with someone who refused to openly admit he was dating him so as far as anyone knew mason was single. It was annoying especially on those few times when he and his boyfriend would hang out as 'friends' and some girl would hit on his boyfriend. NOt that people wouldnt hit on him but whenever anyone did and his boyfriend was around he found some way to get rid of the person. But when it came to him he just flirted and then exchanged numbers and usually that night or that week hed be sleeping with them.
Its probably where he was now. Probably with the waitress that had given him her number the other day. Mason pushed the thoughts to the back of his head, he was dwelling far too much on this. He had known long enough how his boyfriend was and even though he liked to think things would change and his boyfriend would assure him just a little while longer, it was starting to look as though it would never change. Part of mason knew he should get out now if it was going to be that way, but the other part of him that felt connected to him wouldnt let him. It was all a lie though, he argued with himself, but then again what still kept him. It had to be something.
He was so caught up in his thoughts he hadnt realized hed made his way to the beach. He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and pulled it out seeing it was a message from him . Saying something about letting him shower and then to meet him at the hotel down from the restaraunt theyd been to the other day. Mason was no idiot, he probably had been there with that girl and she just finally left and he probably wasnt even going to get a new room. No way in hell was he going to have sex with him in the same bed that hed been with that girl. He made a disgusted face and shut his phone off placing it in his pocket.
Mason was about to leave when he heard a familiar voice. He stopped not sure how he hadnt noticed her before. He really was lost in his thoughts today. well he needed a good distraction and Karla he was sure would be a good one. He grinned as he neared her lifting his camera and taking a picture. She was easily one of the most attractive girls on this tour and if he had been single would have totally gone for her. He stood nearby as she practiced waiting till she stopped before stepping closer. hey. he said. mind if i join you? he asked he still had his oklahoma accent though it wasnt nearly as strong even though he hadnt been away from his home state for long, but mason was quick on picking up on those around him. Right now it was in that not entirely strong but adorable sounding stage.you sound good. he told her, then again hed always liked her voice.

“Hey Masie! Of course you can join me, you're always welcome to hang with me and thank you.” Karla responded as soon as she heard his voice. Mason was one of her friends and was also part of the Star Crush team. He was one of the coolest guys she knew. They meshed with their love of fashion and parties. Mase was an all around awesome guy. "What brings you here?" Karla asked out of curiosity. Karls ran a hand through her hair wishing she had put it up. Karla had a habit of messing with her hair when she let it down, like something was missing. She was careful not to get her rings and various jewelry stuck in there as well. That would be bad.
The wind had picked up and Karla rubbed her arms. It was still quite hot outside, although, the heat would be worse once they got back to the tour grounds. The beach was always cooler than the actual cities. Karla never fully understood why. She always asked and people would always explain but she still never really got it quite all the way. Her new sandals were good and clean. She hoped they would stay that way, they cost a fortune. Didn’t she know it.
Karla finally just put her hands in her pockets and paid attention to Mason. They had quite a special relationship. They were cool with each other and had a level of respect that Karla didn’t have for a lot of people. They could talk about anything and everything freely. It was good that neither of them minded. Karla for one, was always comfortable talking about crazy stuff. She was a very open person and by the look on Mason’s face, there was something up.
