it was dark, scarily dark. the atmosphere in the small room was too familiar to be true. kenny wanted to run, run far away. but she couldn't. then, she heard a familiar psychotic hum of the bubblegum pop song, barbie girl. it sounded so near. she wanted to scream out for help but her throat was clogged from any sound, dry like a desert. she couldn't speak. suddenly, the door opened. the crazy smile of her deceased mother startled her to a wake.
she groaned as she sat up from her bed. her back hurt from yesterday. her room mates were already out and she quickly changed into her normal clothes as she had enough snowboarding for the week. her extensions had been stuck on her head for almost a month now, so she decided to go natural today.
after ordering a nice big slice of chocolate cheese cake and hot chocolate, she sat down on a warm soft couch which supported her aching back which suffered from numerous falls yesterday. she sipped on the hot chocolate which was the only source of warmth in the cafe. she set down her cup and crossed her legs.
it was one o'clock already and kenny saw many people out to ski or snowboard. the cafe wasn't full today either which meant people were either still asleep from an all-nighter or they decided to try to ski or snowboard. funny how people start something because they're friend or enemy is good at it.
so much has happened for kenny in her first year of high school. well, at least her two best friends had been there to experience it with her. kenny sighed as she let the warmth of the hot liquid she just drank go through her body.
