Every time a character is created in the world, be it on TV, in a game, on a webcomic or in a book, a muse is created. In this world, muses are actual living spirits, impossible to detect but filling the air around us at all times. So out in the air there is a Harry Potter muse, a Dr Who muse, a Sam Whitwicky muse and millions of others. Occasionally one of these muses will possess a person, attach themselves to them and alter their personality. The person still remains themselves, but they are changed, their personality matching some traits of the muse that has taken over them. Sometimes these muses grant their new host powers and abilities beyond that of the average human, allowing them to do things no other can. Some use these powers wisely, some exploit them. Muse carriers are known as Sibimets, and the persecution they have experienced at the hands of “normals” has been horrifying.
It has been almost thirteen years since Fallenshore was completed, and it is now the largest gathering of Sibimets in the world. Individuals are brought from all over the world to be dumped here, inside the fenced-in city in rural Wales on the banks of the River Meddiant. Those who bring money with them have the chance to be very successful inside Fallenshore, but those who were struggling on the outside world have no such luck. It is literally a dumping ground, a place to keep the Sibimets contained so the outside world does not have to deal with them. Slavery, prostitution and crime litter the streets, and a division has formed. Those who prefer peace and want to be able to co-exist with their fellow carriers took the north side of the river, those preferring the darker flavours of life heading south. Any who try to escape from Fallenshore are shot on sight by the armed guards that patrol the border.
But there is hope...
Three years ago a carrier by the name of Theodore Hycote arrived in Fallenshore, a doctor who was able to access the castle that stands on the banks of the river even though all others before him had failed to get the ancient doors to pry open. He quickly set up a research base, trying to uncover just what this phenomenon is and to find a cure, or at least some way to control it. Uffern Castle is now a home to many that would be wandering the streets otherwise, offering them food and shelter in exchange for working around the castle and being used in research projects. Is all as shiny and well meaning as it seems? Perhaps only time will tell...
Fallenshore is a newly opened play-by-post fantasy role play game based around the fictional fenced-in city Fallenshore in Wales, on the banks of the River Meddiant. It is set on current time and in this world, but has strong fantasy elements. We welcome all players to come and join us, and have fun!
